Week Four: What do we teach them?

Hey guys! Below is an outline for this week. Given the number of students who are moving to an ‘assessments only’ stand-point for this unit (myself included), I haven’t put ALL the attachments up for this week. I will continue to post the blog each week, try to unearth the weekly readings (and attach them here), as well as bugging Robert for access to them. I just won’t be posting all the extra reading that can be found under each weekly topic 🙂

  1. Listen to the lecture and read the Week Four Lecture Notes. https://youtu.be/J6TAnh75YbY <— Lecture Link
  2. Work through the activity book and below questions
    • Reading: Australian Curriculum – Science (Refer to topic one for link)
    • Reading: Duncon and Killher – Awaiting reply from Robert as it is not available on Blackboard or via Curtin Library or Google
    • Question: Which year does the Earth and Science strand look at soil?
    • Question: Which year does the Earth and Science strand look at space?
    • Question: How is Science as a Human Endeavour taught?
  3. There is a section this week on Science Curriculum. There are three PDFs here for you to read through under this section.
  4. Read through any of the Inspire documents on Blacboard which look interesting to you. This week they are focused on fossils, rock roulette and earthquake activities. Some of these are definitely worth saving 🙂
